Sign the Charter
Violence against women and girls is preventable - but only through collective, evidence-based action.
By signing the CPVAWG charter, organisations and professionals working in education, research, policy, or frontline prevention roles commit to the following principles:
1. Leadership and Commitment
Nominate a Prevention Champion within your organisation who actively promotes awareness, advocacy, and initiatives aimed at preventing violence against women and girls.
2. Public Awareness and Advocacy
Clearly demonstrate your commitment by communicating your support for the prevention of violence against women and girls internally to your teams, and externally to your communities and stakeholders.
3. Supportive Reporting
Create clear, accessible pathways for reporting harassment, abuse, or violence, ensuring that those reporting are consistently believed, supported, and appropriately assisted.
4. Training and Education
Provide regular, evidence-based training and educational resources for staff, ensuring they are equipped to recognise, respond to, and proactively prevent violence and harmful behaviours.
5. Safe and Inclusive Environments
Regularly review and enhance physical spaces, organisational policies, and workplace culture to create safe, respectful, and inclusive environments free from violence, harassment, and discrimination.
6. Collaboration and Community
Work collaboratively with CPVAWG and other stakeholders - sharing knowledge, best practices, and participating in initiatives that promote systemic change and prevention.
7. Championing Change
Advocate for meaningful policy and systemic changes within your sector or community, embedding prevention and gender equality into your organisational priorities.
