Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the CPVAWG website and all content within it, including PDFs and digital reports.

At the Centre for the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls (CPVAWG), we are committed to inclusion and access. That means we want everyone - regardless of ability, device, or context - to be able to access and navigate our content.

We are actively working towards making our website meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard. While we’re not fully there yet, we’re working on it - and we welcome feedback to help us do better.

What we aim for:

Users should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using their browser or OS settings

  • Zoom in up to 300% without loss of content or functionality

  • Navigate most of the site using a keyboard only

  • Use screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver) to access most content

  • Navigate using voice commands or alternative input devices

We’ve also tried to keep our language as clear and plain as possible.

If you need help customising your device, AbilityNet has helpful guidance.

What’s not yet fully accessible:

We know there are areas that don’t yet meet accessibility standards, including:

  • Some images missing alt text

  • Some videos missing captions or playback controls

  • Limited ability to customise line height, text spacing, or font scaling

We are actively working to fix these issues across the site.

Contact and Feedback

If you find any accessibility issues not listed above, or need information from this website in a different format (such as large print, accessible PDF, or audio), please email us at: access@cpvawg.org

We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Ongoing Improvements

We are reviewing accessibility across our website and digital tools as part of our broader commitment to equity and inclusion. This includes:

  • Adding alt text to all new images and graphics

  • Improving colour contrast and design consistency

  • Fixing menu structure for keyboard/screen reader use

  • Ensuring headings and labels follow semantic structure

  • Improving mobile and responsive scaling for readability
